Wakesurfing boats today are backed by technologies that not only make it easier and quicker to produce an endless wave; but more importantly, the size and shapes of the wave have become completely customizable. This is the new era in wakesurfing boat technology.
Centurion Boats
Since day one Centurion boats has led the way in wakesurfing advancements starting with more ballast. Today, the all new Centurion 2016 Ri237 is the next step in wake surfing progression, style, design and craftsmanship. The Ri237 marks a new standard for World Championship Towboats and a brand new deep V-hull design powered by the PCM GM direct injection motor. Centurion continues its wake enhancement with RamFill and CATS technologies, but now with uniquely shaped body lines, modified V bow, interior dual touch screen controls and slide seats. Performance, design and craftsmanship is king, now even more, from the inside out.
“This is definitely the wave of the future and in my twelve long years of competitive wake surfing I can say that 2016 might be the culminating year for surf boat technology with the introduction of the Ri237” -Inland Surfer Team Rider Sean Cummings
Malibu Boats Surf Gate Technology
Malibu's patented Surf Gate technology has helped shape a new concept for wakesurf boat development by allowing a wakesurfer to transfer wake to wake, frontside to backside surfing, in seconds. Since then every other boat company has created a similar sort of system that has been less focused on a weighted down starboard or port side, but rather an equal weighted boat that can change from side to side, regular to goofy surfer, within seconds.
Drew Danielo and the Nautique Surf System:
"Nautique is fully in on wake surfing. They have just introduced the 2016 G23 and G25 with brand new hulls designed to make the biggest, cleanest wake out there. Nautique took their award-winning wakeboard boat, the G23, and started making adjustments for a better wave. It started with a brand new redesigned hull with major changes in the back corners. The new angled corner now allows the water to release off the back of the boat with more of an upward motion. This results in a wave that stands upright after the platform creating a longer wave with a much more pronounced lip. The new hull has integrated and optimized the Nautique Surf System (NSS). The NSS system helps shape the wave and gives it a nice long clean face. It also allows someone to switch from goofy to regular in a matter of seconds. With the new hull design, NSS, NCRS and factory ballast you have an instant world-class wave." -Drew Danielo
Mastercraft Gen 2 Surf System
The Gen 2 Surf System consists of 4 Pillars:
1. The individual boat hull 2. The ballast system (including tanks, plumbing and placement) 3. Software to control it all 4. A wake shaping device beneath the transom that sculpts the wave
Each Gen 2 Surf System is designed from the individual boat model it’s paired to, so it works far better and creates waves that are cleaner, longer, and have more push at all lengths. More about the Gen 2 system in the all new NXT22
Tige TAPS 3
Since its origin, Tige Boats has adapted to the nature and demands of watersports by refining the art of wake control. In response to the rapid growth of wakesurfing and a strong demand for both convenience and quality, Tige Boats has release their latest technology- the TAPS3 Surf System with the Surf Link remote as seen
"Over the past 25 years, Tige has been recognized as the most versatile inboard due to our TAPS technology, stated Charlie Pigeon, CEO of Tige Boats. "Just like the original TAPS System tailored slalom wakes and TAPS 2 gave wake control to wake boarders, our third generation, TAPS3, has led Tige to be the most advanced wakesurf boat in the world."
TAPS3 gives wake surfers the ability to adjust the length, height, shape and style of their surf wave, while also going side-to-side, all with the push of a button on the Surf Link Remote. While also working in tandem with the TAPS3 surf technology, Tige Touch2, Indmar Raptor Series, Surf XL Ballast and the ConvexV Hull, TAPS3 intuitively connects riders to their surf wave like never before.
Supra Swell
For 2016 Supra Boats has fine tuned its already head turning surf system. Swell Surf 2.0 features contoured plates to calm water turbulence and route it to the sweet spot at the end of the plate, directing flow more efficiently to give you an even cleaner wave with more height and push, the perfect combination for the Supra Pro Wake Tour.
But another great feature of the 2016 Swell Surf 2.0 is that it enables us to have the Supra Launch System. This System combines the power of the Supra Smart Plate and revised Swell Surf System to make planing under load even easier than ever. As engine RPMs increase both systems deploy in tandem, reducing drag in the water and increasing acceleration to get the boat quickly and smoothly on plane. Which is great for wakeboarding or just getting the boat on plane faster and more efficient.
