There was a definite California vibe around the 2015 Wake Shredder Throwdown. This was the 7th stop of the World Series of Wake Surfing. It was held on Mossdale Quarry Lake in Lathrop, California June 19, 20 and 21. Awesome site with a sandy beach for the spectators to use and easy access just off Interstate 5. Sean Cummings put together an amazing three day event. Jeff and Judy Walker also helped by keeping everything running smoothly, which is par for the course for all events they help with. Head judge Dennis Horton was in the boat all day for the 3 day event keeping all the scores far and square for every surfer. The event was not only for surfers, but wakeboarders and wakeskaters were also included. Sean had all kinds of other fun in store too. During the day the participants and audience could try out the extreme water slide with a winch to pull the tube down the slide and jump. This proved to be a big hit with the crowd. Each evening we enjoyed a bonfire with a DJ playing music in the background. The night surfing under the lights proved to be a success also. Everyone seemed to have a fantastic time and have already ask Sean to please put this event on again next year.
"Dynamic." That's the best way to describe Chris Wolter's surf style. I could snap a shot of Chris anywhere in his run and have an awesome picture. Chris won the Pro Surf Style.
"Making His Mark." 2013 World Champion Ocean Skim Boarder Austin Keen is making his mark behind a boat now. Austin has awesome style and is a great guy around the site. Austin even had a wakesurf video on The Ellen Show recently. Austin took 2nd in Pro Skim.
"Family Witherell." The Witherell family are always a joy to be around. This shot is of Aaron. I always make it a point to be on site when Aaron, Grant and even their dad, Todd surf. I also love to get candid shots of their mom while she watches them compete. Aaron took 1st in Pro Skim.
"No Kidding Around." This picture shows Ashley Kidd's aggressive style. Ashley's throttle is stuck wide open during her runs. Laid back and quiet around the site, but when she hits the water Ashley turns into a tiger! Ashley took 1st in Pro Surf Style.
