The Minnesota Wake Surf Championship took place at Surfside Beach (yes that's really the name of a beach in Minnesota) on infamous Lake Minnetonka once again this July, and we checked in with local Minnesota photographer and wake surfer Michael Solorz for his favorite photos of the weekend:
“It started by watching all these brand new boats being beached and prepped for the weekend. In no time, I was in the middle of the surf action. It was on - I got great coverage! The vibe was set by our speaker, Andy “Wiggy” Weigman, who announced the competitors along with a few jokes here and there. Having fun comes with great photos. It was such a perfect day, I soon heard from all the vendors and spectators that the turnout was nothing less than perfect. I can assume that next year will not disappoint.”
Melting Hearts Sunglasses was one of the sponsors on site showing their colors.
Good vibes all around, especially in the Merch tent.
The event was run behind a 2015 Malibu LSV with Surfgate, and footage was streamed live to a jumbo-tron on shore!
A lot of love, and a lot of Malibus at Surfside Beach in Mound!
