The A6 fin aka Purple Pinky is designed to work with a wake surf skim board that runs 1/2” Futures Fin boxes. It will work any board that has Futures boxes. The reason designers Nick Scott and Aaron Witherell designed a new skim fin was to create a longer more skim like fin but still use Futures boxes. The fin is a mix between a traditional skim fin and a Twin Keel fin design. Mixing the two fins allowed them to install the Purple Pinky into any skim running the Futures Box and gave them the needed length they were looking for out of a skim fin designed for that box. It provides better control and stability riding and doing revert riding tricks.
Until now, no other skim fin was really designed for wake surfing skim style. When Nick designed his first skim shapes in 2012 Aaron and him planned to build skims with the Futures 1/2" boxes and use their TMF-1 fin for the time being and then would later work on a skim fin designed for what they wanted. It took them a year of designing and testing their ideas, but it finally paid off. Teaming up with Futures Fins was awesome! Futures were stoked to work with Nick and Aaron on their design and made it happen. The very first wake surf fin designed by true wake surfers from the Northwest in Boise, Idaho and Sequim, Washington. Just another step up in progression and innovation for the wake surfing industry. The sport they love to push to the next level.
