The future of board technology? No more resin? This is the future of paddle boards and made right here in the US in California. Bounce SUP is a new line of thermal infused plastic into fiberglass cloth technology that has replaced the need for resin resulting in a board that is able to withstand the pressures of time. Imagine a board rental fleet, or a personal board, that does not require ding repair and can offer the same performance. The idea started years back when Bounce Composites approached Surftech about building boards and they introduced the indestructible B1 into the market with a video of a truck running over a normal board and then running over the B1, the first board broke and the B1 survived. And now the same pioneers of the B1 technology, Bounce Composites, have teamed up with some key players in the industry and are taking their patented technology and introducing a new line of SUP products called Bounce SUP and two types of construction thermal composite technology and hollow thermal composite.
The first type, the 11’4 Super Cruiser, is pretty much the same technology used with the Surftech B1’s with a different shape and some new features like a go pro mount, nose/tail/center leash plug, LiftSUP handle and a Futures keel fin. Even the shape of the Super Cruiser is ahead of its time, a touring shape, 11’4 in length and 32” wide for stability and finally a board dedicated for flat water and the average paddler. A board with speed and stability, made in the US, that is nearly indestructible?!
Even more exciting is Bounce’s next step in the evolution of performance and durability with there new sandwich shapes and hollow thermal composite technology that has created lighter boards with more flex. Just like the Super Cruiser yet with a hollow inside means a lighter board (about 3 lbs lighter) and even more durable. These boards are formed in a single hollow shape resulting in a board that has diminished the potential for leaks and handle temperature changes better than traditional hollow boards because it flexes. The H-TCT boards also have added buoyancy and can hold up to 250 lbs.
“I had a chance to get on one of these boards thanks to Ty Zulim and I fell in love. I was surprised to find out how well they glided and turned. This is exactly what we have been looking for in our local SUP rental fleet and even board sales. The need for a board, both light and durable and an ideal shape for flatwater has finally been fulfilled thanks to Bounce SUP.”
